In terms of blood NAD+ levels, male NAD+ homeostasis seems to be more affected by aging — NAD+ levels decline significantly with age, especially in middle-aged and elderly men.Female showed a fluctuating trend, which may be related to the change of female sex hormones.This is also the world’s first large-scale correlation analysis between NAD+(nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and age and sex in the blood of Chinese people, which has completed the gap in the study of gender differences of NAD+ in a large population.The subjects in this NAD+ study were all from China, compared with those reported in foreign literature.Therefore, it has more reference value for Chinese people.It is worth noting that in this large population study, the association between blood NAD+ level and anemia in women was examined, and higher BLOOD NAD+ level was found to be significantly associated with lower anemia prevalence in women.
