Manchester City are set to hit South America again with talks with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro for teenage stars Sergio Savenjo and Jan Felipe, according to reports.City have recruited heavily in South America over the past few years and now have nearly a dozen of their academy players from the region.It was only in January that they signed 22-year-old Julian Alvarez from River Plate, who will arrive in Manchester this summer.But now City are back in South America as they look to sign striker Savenjo and midfielder Philippe.A deal for the two 17-year-olds is now close at Manchester City.It is believed that Salvenjo’s deal is so close that the Premier League champions will pay just £5m.90 minutes also understands that a loan deal to Dutch giants PSV eindhoven has been agreed in principle.Talks are also continuing for midfielder Philippe, sources said.Felipe is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s most promising young players.City first made contact with the current Brazilian champions last year and are now hoping to strike a deal with Savenjo.Brazil has been a favoured recruiting hotspot for City in recent years, with Kegi, Jan Cotto and Diego Rosa all part of their academy set-up.In 2017, Manchester City Football Group bought Uruguayan club Atletico Tolc and renamed it Montevideo Manchester City Tolc.The Manchester City Football Group has since established a permanent presence in South America.
